Membership

Ideal for happy rowers who enjoy life. Good times, great people, exercise, and fresh air.

To become a member you must have completed the Learn to Row program within the last three years, either with our club or another rowing club.

Members row for many reasons: joy of being on the water and getting exercise outside; fun being part of a crew; and racing!

Recreational

You can row numerous times each week during scheduled hours.

We row mornings during spring and summer.

In the fall we row evenings.

Recreational Rowing

Experience the beauty of Okanagan Lake while improving upon your rowing skills and fitness.  Rowers of all skill levels, from novices to veterans of high school and university programs, row with KRC.

Recreational rowing offers a unique opportunity to enjoy fun, no-impact fitness while working both your mind and body. Coaching is provided.

Equipment

KRC owns recreational and competitive single, double and quad sculling shells. Recreational shells are more stable and allow rowers to master skills with confidence. Each rower must wear a PFD (provided by the club or your own) while rowing. Our shells and oars are stored on racks in our locked compound. We can choose to wet-launch at the West Kelowna Boat Launch or launch from the floating dock adjacent to the club.

Social Rows

Social rows are an opportunity to row longer distances (10 to 15 kilometers), experience rowing on different parts of Okanagan Lake and get to know other club members. Most social rows take the form of: row, beach the boats, EAT, socialize, and row back to the club.  Typically this takes a full Sunday morning and is always memorable.

We try to extend social events beyond rowing, with club BBQs, off-season meet-ups and club potlucks.

Safety Boat

Every session on the water, you will find our coaches or volunteers nearby providing feedback to help you grow as a rower.

Despite the fact that rowing is a movement that is done over and over again, it can be a difficult sport to master. When it is done with grace and power as a crew - there is nothing like it!

We are here to help you achieve your goals.
